Menopause occurs because of the winding down of the female cycle, as the hormonal system moves from its reproductive function to "maintenance" for the rest of your life. For most women, this happens in their early 50s.
There are three stages when dealing with menopause:
Perimenopause. When the ovaries gradually make less estrogen, a woman will start to enter the perimenopause stage. Perimenopause can last a few months or years until menopause, the point when the ovaries stop producing eggs.
Menopause. At this stage, the ovaries have stopped producing eggs and making most of their estrogen. It also has been a year since a woman had her last menstrual period.
Post-menopause. These are the years after menopause where menopausal symptoms ease for most women.
During menopause, women will experience many changes in their body, mind and emotions. Hot flashes and night sweats are the most common symptoms for menopausal women. But many other symptoms, such as irritability, weight management issues, lack of libido, vaginal dryness, occasional sleeplessness, mood and memory concerns, stress and fatigue, are also associated with menopause.
Night sweats are essentially hot flashes that occur while you are sleeping. When night sweats are particularly severe, you might wake to find your skin is feeling cold and clammy from sweat, and your pajamas or sheets are soaked through.
The three primary ingredients used in the Estroven® brand are Black Cohosh, Soy Isoflavones and Rhapontic Rhubarb extract (ERr 731®) .
Black Cohosh, (a native perennial of North America), has a long tradition as a beneficial herbal remedy for the relief of moderate to severe menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, insomnia, nocturnal sweating, dizziness, headaches and palpitations, irritability, anxiety.*
Isoflavones, a major phytonutrient of soy beans, peanuts, chick peas, fava beans, alfalfa, kudzu and all members of the legume family, has long been associated with reducing postmenopausal symptoms. Soy Isoflavones used in the Estroven® products are efficacious to relieve menopausal symptoms.*
Rhapontic Rhubarb extract (ERr 731®) is a patented botanical ingredient that has been used in Germany since the 1950’s for relief from menopausal symptoms and is now available in the US.
Unlike common Rhubarb, the standardized, patented extract ERr 731® contains the important compounds rhaponticin and desoxyrhaponticin shown to alleviate menopause symptoms. There are several clinical trials supporting the safety and efficacy of ERr 731®. In addition, there are laboratory and preclinical studies supporting the mechanism of action as well as a post-marketing analysis that further supports the safety and efficacy of the ingredient.
The Black Cohosh and the clinically proven Soy Isoflavones, found in several of the Estroven® dietary supplements help safely reduce hot flashes and night sweats.* Both have a relatively long safety profile history and demonstrated efficacy supporting their use to relieve hot flashes and night sweats.*
Rhapontic Rhubarb extract ERr® 731 in Estroven® Complete Menopause Relief: During menopause, estrogen level decrease, leading to menopausal symptoms. There are two receptors in the body activated by estrogen, estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) and estrogen receptor beta (ERβ). The active ingredient in Estroven® Complete Menopause Relief, Rhapontic Rhubarb extract ERr® 731, selectively stimulates the ERβ. Stimulation of ERβ has been shown to elicit beneficial estrogen-like activities and reduce adverse side effects. By activating this estrogen receptor, ERr® 731 has been studied and clinically demonstrated to show efficacy in relieving menopause symptoms.
Some Estroven® supplements contain soy. The Soy Isoflavones used in Estroven® have been clinically proven to reduce hot flashes and night sweats.*
Estroven® Complete Menopause Relief does not contain soy.
No. Estroven® products do not contain animal or human-derived hormones.
Results vary based on each individual’s symptoms and needs. For the rest of the portfolio, we recommend daily use for a minimum of 60 days for best results.
